Levels & Participation requirements for your intensive German course in Berlin or your online course

We will conduct an online level test with you after you have registered. So we find the right German course with the right level for you.

In order for you to take part in our intensive German courses, right after your registration you will receive a placement test according to the level you desire.

There is no time limit on this German test. However, it is very helpful if you complete the test online without any help (internet, dictionaries, friends or other kind). This helps us to find the right German course with the suitable level for you.

Kapitel Zwei pays particular attention to ensuring a homogenous level in your group. The goal is for every learner to have the same language prerequisites and to have achieved the desired level by the end of the course. Should you have special wishes you are very welcome to contact us by email.

Visa Advice

If you need at least 20 lessons per week for a visa, you can combine your intensive course with a special course (grammar, conversation, phonetics).

You can learn German intensively within our premises or online from Mondays to Thursdays and visit an additional course on Fridays for grammar, conversation, pronunciation or telc German courses.

Our intensive courses (on-site and online) start every month. This means that you can learn German all year round from January to December. The registration for the ensuing course will not happen automatically. We will remind you of your reservation for the next German course on-site in Berlin or online around the middle of each month by video, flyer, announcement by your teacher, online on our website, and also on social media.

The courses at the end of the year in December only last three weeks, however. They take place from Monday to Friday, so not only until Thursday. This way you can complete your level before the holidays and relax after learning German in Berlin or online until the new year. During the other eleven months of the year the intensive courses in Berlin or online last four weeks and take place from Monday to Thursday.

Starting in the morning from 8.45 am to 11.45 am for early birds, around noon from 12 pm to 3 pm for hardworking people, even in the afternoons for diligent students from 3 pm to 6 pm and for those who are very busy we offer courses in the evenings from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Starting from level A1 the courses are taught entirely in German. Your teacher has a wealth of experience. Using the best possible methods, she/he can explain complex language structures in a playful way, sometimes even “without speaking”.

If need be, we can always answer your questions in English, yet you will see that this is not necessary. It is fun to explore the language together at the same level, make the same mistakes and to progress. Your fellow students have the same linguistic fears and dreams as you do! Course material of your intensive course

During your German course in Berlin we will convey all facets of the German language. We will learn with the help of books and current additional material such as music but also films. We will focus on all four areas of learning a language: we will speak, listen write, and learn grammar.

Our German teachers select the course and exercise books themselves. You will find a small selection of the books we like to use in our German courses here.

If you have booked an online course in a virtual classroom, you will receive the name and ISBN number of the print edition or the link to the online books & licenses probably 3-4 days before the course starts. You will receive the zoom link to the virtual classroom 24 hours before the course starts.

If you are going to have an offline course, i.e. in the real classroom, the title of the book will also be shared with you beforehand. You are able to buy the book in bookshops or online. We also have a limited stock of course books in our school. If your book is available in our school, you can buy it directly at the entrance on the first day of the course. Paying in cash or, better, with a debit card, is preferred; however we do accept certain credit cards. Costs are between 20 and 30 EUR.

Our German language school has such a great central location that you can reach it perfectly from anywhere in Berlin. Kapitel Zwei Berlin awaits you on the ground floor of Am Köllnischen Park 1.
