Körperwelten –The exhibition of the human body
Discover your insides with your German language school
On Thursday, January 23rd at 3pm, Kapitel Zwei would like to visit the exhibition Körperwelten (Body Worlds) in Berlin Mitte before or after your German course. It is not for the faint-hearted and that’s why the exhibition is so polarizing.
At this exhibition you will not see any paintings or sculptures made of stone or ceramics, no… but conserved (real) people! How does is that possible? The exhibited preparations are human bodies that have been preserved through the process of Plastination. Not only bodies, but organs and animals can be seen here. This exhibition gives us the opportunity to learn about ourselves and about the body in a different way.
But who would think of such an idea? The founder of the Body Worlds is Gunther von Hagens, he studied medicine and is the inventor of Plastination. The bodies on display in the exhibition come from voluntary donors. This exhibition is controversially discussed. Yeah, it’s not for everyone.
What do you think? Is it something for you? Shall we go there together and then exchange our opinions? Our promoter Antonella has the strongest nerves and will join you there!
Kapitel Zwei is looking forward to seeing you!
