Lucia Christmas Market
Discover the warmth of the winter with your language school for German
We have waited all year to go to the Christmas market. On Thursday, 19th December, the day has finally arrived. We’ll meet at 7 p.m. at the Lucia Christmas Market in the Kulturbrauerei. Address: Knaackstraße 97. Please be on time.
How about having the evening classes at the Christmas market? With the help of mulled wine, German grammar might seem easier than you think. You can find a letterbox for your wishes at the Christmas Market. Your homework: write a letter to Santa Claus and explain, why your wishes should come true. We also want to test your musical talent when singing along with the merry choir at the Lucia Christmas Market. Do you already know some German Christmas Carols?
We’ll be strolling through the romantic world of the picturesque setting of a former site of a brewery, with its industrial architecture of the 19th century, till 10 p.m. The Christmas Market is dedicated to the Scandinavian countries. Lucia is the name of a Nordic goddess, who brings light into the dark times of winter. She (or the mulled wine) brings warmth and a feeling of security. Taste one out of twenty variations of mulled wine – in its conventional form, or as a white wine from a vintner, or as a Swedish Glögg, a Finnish Glögi, or an Islandic mulled wine. As long as you find your way back to your Berlin home safely, everything will be alright!
In case you are still freezing, warm up by the heat of the flickering “Swedenfires”, or by the unique „Coat-Open-Air-Heater“; where you can wear fur coats, which have been warmed up by a nostalgic wood-fired oven. Another idea is the mobile sauna, for which you luckily don’t need to get undressed. The most important thing is, we can have a group cuddle.
The Lucia Christmas Market is free of admission.
We look forward to seeing you there. Come along, but bring a hat, scarf, gloves and warm boots with you!
