How to Have a Productive Sunday
There’s no denying that lazy Sundays are great. Most of the time there’s nothing more I’d love to do than cuddle up, watch the new Game of Thrones and nurse the throbbing hangover that often follows an infamous night out in Berlin. But sometimes, Sundays are the perfect opportunity get things done and start your new week right. In Germany everything’s closed on Sundays anyway, so why not?
Here are a few tips to get you going:
Have a (Realistic) Goal
Crafting a lengthy to-do list is tempting, but try your best to resist. Being overzealous with your goals will only lead to disappointment. So, start with just one goal and stick to it — like doing the homework from your language course. Write this down (yes, physically on a piece of paper) and actively cross it off when you finish. Then if you have time, add another.
Know Where You’re Working
First decision to make: Are you going to work from home or go somewhere else? It’s no secret that finding reliable WiFi in Berlin can be challenging. Fortunately, there are many great cafes located practically around the corner from Kapitel Zwei. My favorites are St. Oberholz (Rosenthaler Platz, U8 – 2 stops from Alexanderplatz) and Olso Kaffeebar (M10 – 2 stops from Hauptbahnhof).
Prepare in Advance
Charge your laptop, gather your books, setup your space if you’re working from home or pack your bag if you’re not. Whatever you need to do in order to dive into your work on Sunday, get that together the day or night before. It sounds small, but I promise this is the best way to get you up and motivated.
Eat Breakfast
It is the most important meal of the day, after all. Ok but in all seriousness, it’s proven that eating breakfast helps improve concentration and intellectual performance. And luckily for you, bakeries are open Sunday mornings!
