Visit to the Berlin Wall Memorial & Prater Beer Garden afterwards
Excursion with your language school for German
On Wednesday, September 19th, we will visit the memorial “Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer” at Bernauer Straße. Back in the days a wall divided our city in two parts: West and East Berlin. It is even more than a usual museum, but a long memorial which shows how the Berlin Wall was structured. Many people died by trying to flee and the Wall is an important part of the German history.
Moreover there is an amazing exhibition in an own museum building close to the former wall which explains us the history of the Berlin Wall. You can oversee the former border installations as well as the Berlin skyline from a tower which is part of the museum. In another building there is an impressive movie dealing with the lives of humans who were affected by the wall.
Prater Beer Garden
After our trip to the wall we will head to the oldest and most traditional beergarden of Berlin: Prater. We will have a cold drink and talk about the experiences we made in the museum. A great place to finish off the day.
