§2 General aims and behaviours

At Kapitel Zwei Berlin, the dignity of all persons involved is respected. Neither teachers, students, parents, business partners nor any other persons belonging to the school community may be endangered, injured or disregarded in their physical or psychological integrity. Exclusion, intolerance, verbal or written abuse, hate speech as well as discriminatory or degrading behaviour are not tolerated.

At Kapitel Zwei, no one may be disadvantaged or favoured on the basis of skin colour, origin, descent, language, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, worldview, disability or age. Students, teachers and employees are to be treated equally. On this basis, Kapitel Zwei exercises its house rules.

Persons who spread right-wing extremist, racist, antisemitic, anti-democratic or otherwise inhuman ideas can be excluded from participation in school activities and asked to leave the premises. Kapitel Zwei reserves the right within this framework to regulate participation in the school programme as well as the award of teaching assignments and employment relationships accordingly.

Bringing dangerous objects or materials which, by their nature or content, are capable of defaming, intimidating, threatening or attacking other persons is prohibited.

Persons who have currently consumed drugs of any kind and/or are under the influence of alcohol during lesson times are generally not permitted to take part in the school programme. These persons are excluded from lessons and examinations.

The principle of responsibility at school requires everyone to be accountable for their actions and omissions. Property belonging to Kapitel Zwei Berlin must be handled carefully and with care; likewise, the property of others must be respected. Anyone who soils, damages or destroys something must bear the costs of the damage. Cases of intentional damage to property and serious soiling may be reported to the authorities.

Every user of our internet access undertakes to observe the conventions of the internet (netiquette), not to endanger the security and functionality of the systems and not to attempt to gain access to the network of Kapitel Zwei Berlin or other networks. All users undertake to comply with applicable laws and to respect guidelines.

Visitors to our school report to reception. Access to the school is only permitted to persons who attend lessons, have an appointment or are present for another legitimate reason. Unauthorised persons can be asked to leave the premises.

Photo, video or audio recordings of students, teachers, employees or other persons present are only permitted in the school rooms and in the immediate school context with explicit consent. This also applies to publication or sharing via social media, messenger services or other public or private channels.

In the entrance area, in front of the building and in shared spaces, respectful, calm and non-intimidating behaviour is required. Harassment, threats, targeted provocative addressing, insulting statements as well as deliberate observing or filming of other persons are not tolerated and may lead to exclusion from the premises.

Safety-relevant incidents, unauthorised entry, threats, discriminatory incidents, damage to property or other serious disturbances must be reported immediately to the team or to the management.

In the event of serious violations of the school and house rules, persons may be excluded from the teaching activities without compensation and banned from the premises. All criminal acts or other administrative offences may be reported to the authorities. In such cases, fees for booked programmes will not be refunded.
