Metropolis Kapitel Zwei Sprachschule Deutsch Ausflug

German Film Archive – Museum of Film and Television in Berlin

On tour with Kapitel Zwei – Your German language school

On Thursday, February 28th, Kapitel Zwei Berlin will take you to the “Deutsche Kinemathek” – the famous film museum at Potsdamer Platz.

The museum has a lot in store for us. We will visit the permanent exhibition and the special exhibition “Zwischen den Filmen – eine Fotogeschichte der Berlinale”, which deals with the history of the international film festival “Berlinale” from its beginnings to present day.

We will see the futuristic set designs for Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”, Marlene Dietrich’s make-up case and the costumes from Wolfgang Petersen’s “The Boat”. We will take a walk through halls of mirrors, a variety of light installations and other spectacular stagings. In the multimedia library, productions from 70 years of television history from both West and East Germany, can be enjoyed.

After a magnificent tour through the museum, we will know more about the cinema of the times of the silent film divas, the films of the Weimar Republic and National Socialism, the Exile in Hollywood, the post-war film and the German contemporary cinema. You won’t stop being amazed. Especially if we tell you that admission is free!
