Exhibition: Lost in Berlin and Bucharest. Photographs.

On Wednesday, April 19th, we will go to the Willy-Brandt-Haus.

Free admission, valid identification or passport required.

There are two very interesting exhibitions:

“Lost in Berlin and Bucharest” – by professional photographers (Fara Phoebe Zetzsche and Massimo Branca)

“On the street (portraits and urban landscapes)” – by Berlin’s street youth

The theme is very moving – see the following descriptions from the Willy-Brandt-Haus website:

1) “Lost in Berlin and Bucharest” – by professional photographers

More and more young people flee from problems with their parents into a life on the streets. Many come to Berlin to look for their supposed happiness in the anonymity of the big city. Approx. 2,000 of them live on the streets of Berlin. Their daily life is characterized by drug addiction, constant search for food and a sleeping place, mostly disingenuous friendships, exclusion from society, crime and contact with the executives.

In Bucharest, some homeless people were living in the tunnels of the Central Station by 2015.

The two photographers Fara Phoebe Zetzsche and Massimo Branca accompany homeless youths in Berlin and Bucharest and tell their stories and talk about their survival.

2) “On the street (portraits and urban landscapes)” – by Berlin’s street youth

This exhibition is shown alongside the one mentioned before. The street youths had the opportunity to newly discover their surroundings with a digital camera. They were also able to observe the analogue and digital portrait photography in the photostudio. The results are outstanding portraits and urban landscapes. The results of a multi-week photo workshop will be shown.
