Jerusalem is now in Berlin – Trip to the Jewish Museum

On the move with your German language school

You are open to religions, have travelled a lot all over the world, are open to history and many political aspects about Jerusalem?

Then come with us on Tuesday, the 13th of November from 3.15 pm, to the Jewish Museum in Berlin. This is where the successful exhibition on “Welcome to Jerusalem”, the “Holy City”, resides as an important centre of faith for Jews, Christians and Muslims from all over the world. There is a reason why the current affairs of Jerusalem appear in the news these days.

The exhibition focuses on the relationships between urban history, everyday life, religions and politics. You will see significant historical objects and models as well as media installations on the following topics:

  • The holy city
  • Conflict
  • Religious provocateurs: Religious positions in Jerusalem
  • Jerusalem in the works of contemporary artists
  • Everyday life in Jerusalem
  • 24 hours Jerusalem
  • Jerusalem in Berlin

You probably already know some places with a Jewish background without knowing it: the settlement of New Jerusalem, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, the beer garden Golgatha, the Kreuz-, Zions- or Gethsemanekirche. Even if you look attentively in different snacks, bars or shops the wall hangings, scarves or posters, you will discover traces of Jerusalem!
