Märkisches Museum – Understanding Berlin in one hour
Excursion with your German language school in Berlin
Märkisches Museum. Doesn’t ring a bell? Find out more on Wednesday, July 18th. Then we will visit the very popular city museum of Berlin. It is considered an interesting state museum for the culture and history of the capital! Here we marvel at outstanding works of art in the entertaining permanent exhibition as well as in exciting, changing special exhibitions.
The permanent exhibition is entitled BerlinZeit. History compact. Compact is always good, isn’t it? On two floors we learn about the formative moments of Berlin, represented by numerous objects, multimedia offers and of course participation stations. As a new Berliner you will be smarter after only one hour and understand why Marlene Dietrich still has a suitcase in Berlin. Afterwards the object of the month will be awarded! Which one is that?! Tell us after the trip in German (?) over a cool drink.
You can imagine it: Berlin is constantly changing. Berlin changes itself through its citizens, but vice versa the citizens also change through Berlin. Can you tell by yourself? Who influences whom: the city the person or the person the city?
Those who want to escape from the sluggish history lessons of school times, come to the Märkisches Museum with Kapitel Zwei. Here you will not only meet stories from the Ice Age, but also modern times, namely that of the Berlin rapper Romano, who is currently advertising the city’s public transport on TV. At the same time we get access to the so-called [Rehearsal] rooms of the permanent exhibition. There we come across mechanical musical instruments and the widely used jukebox that reproduces the “Sound of Berlin”: from 1948 to the present day and from pop to rap.
We are again looking forward to an exciting visit, astonishing faces, smiling faces paired with aha-effects as a result of the presentation of the exciting history of Berlin.
