The German Bundestag’s exhibition on parliamentary history

Excursion in Berlin with your language school

On Wednesday, May 31st, we will go “The German Bundestag’s exhibition on parliamentary history entitled “Milestones – Setbacks – Sidetracks” in the Deutscher Dom on Gendarmenmarkt. No admission fee!

This exhibition displays the history of the German Parliament and the evolution of democracy after national socialism, over 5 floors.

In the past 100 years, there were fundamental changes in Germany and Europe: World War I and II, economic crisis and growth, Nazi regime and globalisation. It is evident that these changes had an influence on politics. After monarchy and dictatorship, the democratic system has been established. Fortunately! This exhibition presents us with the long way towards a parliamentary system in Germany.

We all know the Bundestag and its dome made of glass. But how does democracy work? What exactly happens in our parliament? Which institutions are important for a democracy? All these questions will be answered.
