Exam telc Deutsch B2 C1 Medizin Berlin German language school

The exam the telc Deutsch B2 / C1 Medizin tests specific German language competence in the field of medicine of doctors from abroad. Both Levels (B2 / C1) will be tested within the same exam with the same tasks in listening, reading, writing and speaking. After approximately 2-3 weeks (rapid evaluation), you will find out from your results, if and in which area from the ones mentioned above, you have reached the B2 or C1 level.

telc Deutsch B2 / C1 Medizin’s lexical and grammatical competences are positioned at the upper end of the levels B2 and C1. It is focussed on the specific German language competence in the field of medicine as spoken in a German hospital.

The exam takes place on request and is open to our students as well as external students from other institutions. Proposed dates can be found here.

Structure of your telc Deutsch B2 | C1 Medizin exam in Berlin

Die Prüfung besteht aus einem schriftlichen und einem mündlichen Teil.

The written examination lasts about three hours and consists of:

Listening comprehension (40 mins.)
Reading comprehension (50 mins.)
Language elements (20 mins.)
Writing (60 mins.)

The oral exam follows a break. It usually takes place with another person (also a doctor).

The oral exam lasts 45 minutes. There is a preparation time of 10 minutes before the oral exam. After part 1 (patient’s assessment) a break of 5 minutes is given to work out one’s notes of the assessment and to prepare for the presentation of the patient’s case study.

Usually at Kapitel Zwei, the oral exam takes place on the day of the written exam.
